Acer Aspire 5610 Keyboard Driver

Unfortunately in most cases you are forced to simply wait for the manufacturers to update their products to include support for the new operating system. When Windows XP came out it was a good year before you could reasonably expect most of your peripherals to have compatibility updates available, and that's assuming that they were modern to begin with. So far Acer has not offered full Vista support, but if there is a specific component you are having problems with (such as the sound card) we may be able to help you since many of the third-party companies that produce the components used in the notebook have released updates. Acer Aspire 5610 Keyboard Driver

Acer aspire 5610 keyboard replacement how do I remove the keyboard on an acer aspire 5610? - Acer Aspire 5610-4648 Notebook question.

Yes it is the sound that isn't working and also the built-in webcam. There is a sound driver that windows automatically installed and everything looks like it should work, but no sound comes out the speakers. The webcam is just recognised as an unknown camera device. I also need drivers/software for the touchpad as some functions such as the scroll don't work. I understand it may take a while for these drivers to appear, but if there are 3rd party companies that can provide these drivers then that would be much appreciated Thanks for your help again.

I believe the free program should run flawlessly on Vista and tell you exactly what components you have, including the 'true' manufacturer of each part. (Acer may assemble the computer, but it may be an Asus motherboard, Intel processor, Maxtor hard drive, etc.) As far as the sound chip goes, Creative and a few others are lagging a little behind with the last updates being for pre-release versions of Vista which may or may not work, but if it turns out that you have Realtek audio or one of select others then you'll be in luck. I doubt you'll find anything for the touchpad yet, but there is a possibility when it comes to the webcam. Let us know what Everest reports in all three departments and we'll see if we can track down some downloads for you. I know just how you feel! I have a new Aspire 5630 and found the same problem. I found some links that told me to download 2 files from the Acer site.

It took me ages to find them (like 2 hours) but if you switch to ftp and go to pub directory you will find the files there for download. The bios update part worked a treat but I cannot get the rest of it to work at all so don't get too excited.

I have now removed all the 'Acer' apps from my machine to get rid of the issues caused. Hope you have more sucess than I am having. Let me know if you find out something I missed. Best of luck.
